Everyone loves a good story. The chronological timeline is a classic device we frequently use as storytellers. Timelines reduce long or complex stories into components to create a smooth mixture of different information types — factual, anecdotal, technical, etc. And they provide us with substantial control over the tale’s overall direction and impact through the choice and manner of illustration. We have found the timeline to be appropriate for every audience, regardless of age, educational level, language or disability.

Ross Culbert & Lavery provides marketing communications and design services to museums, historical societies, educational institutions and not-for-profit organizations of all types and sizes.
